Dr Flaminia Purchiaroni is a gastroenterologist and GI endoscopist who improved her skills and knowledge at Wolfson Unit for Endoscopy-St Mark’s Hospital in London, the only endoscopic unit in the UK to achieve international recognition as a centre of excellence for endoscopy research and training. She holds a licence to practice as a specialized doctor both in Italy (Ordine dei medici di Roma) and in the UK (General Medical Council).

She graduated cum laude in 2009 at Policlinico Gemelli and specialized cum laude in gastroenterology and GI endoscopy at Sapienza University of Rome in 2016. In 2020 she obtained her PhD in “Clinical, cellular and molecular research in GI endoscopy” at Policlinico Gemelli in Rome. She carried on her training in the field of gastrointestinal diseases and GI endoscopy through advanced fellowships at the most high quality centres in the world, such as:

• University of Cambridge (Cambridge, UK);
• New York University and Beth Israel medical Centre (New York, USA);
• National Cancer Centre (Tokyo, Japan);
• University of Kobe (Kobe, Japan);
• St Mark’s Hospital (London, UK).

She currently works in Rome at Policlinico Casilino and runs her private practice across multiple locations (such as Quisisana clinic, Madonna della fiducia clinic, poliambulatorio gruppo Igea, studio Roberto Corelli).

She is author of many papers published both in international and national scientific journals and she is expert in treating diseases of the GI tract and in performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy (in particular endoscopic polipectomy of the stomach, colon and rectum), with over 10.000 oesophagogastroduodenoscopies and over 10.000 colonoscopies performed.
